Building up wealth
Targeted saving or investing, tailored to what you want to achieve with your money.
How can I build up my wealth?
There are various ways to build up your wealth. Saving is one of them, but depending on your situation, you could also, for example, invest, make extra repayments or set money aside for your pension.
What suits you best depends mainly on why you want to build up your wealth, when you’ll need it and how much risk you’re willing to take.
Building up your wealth starts with a goal.
For example:
- retiring early
- building a financial cushion for later
- helping your children get started
That goal determines which approach to building wealth suits you best. We draw up a plan that not only focuses on maximising your wealth for the future, but also fits within your current financial circumstances.
What would you like to be able to do in the future?
Retire early, help your children, buy a second home or simply have more financial freedom? Once you know where you want to go, you can work out what it will take to get there. Make an appointment.
FAQ on building up wealth
Is it better for me to save, invest or pay off my mortgage?
That depends on your objective, the time horizon, your financial buffer and how much risk you’re willing to take. The highest expected return isn’t automatically the best choice. Often, a combination of different options may also be suitable.
Is investing in property a good way to build wealth?
That’s possible, but property isn’t automatically a better investment than saving or investing in other assets. You’ll have to deal with purchase and financing costs, taxes, maintenance and, potentially, letting. What’s more, a large proportion of your assets will be tied up in a single investment.
We therefore look at the expected return, the costs and risks, and what investing in property means for the rest of your financial plans. This will help you decide whether property is right for you or whether other ways of building wealth might be more attractive.
Can I cut back on the things I enjoy now so that I’ll have more money later?
As far as we’re concerned, building up your savings isn’t about living as frugally as possible now for the sake of the future. Instead, we look for a balance: how much can you and are you willing to set aside now, without having to put all your fun plans on hold for the next twenty years?
Be confident in your choice.

Have you made up your mind about your financial decision yet?
Book a free consultation. Just a good chat about your situation.
How much does an initial consultation cost?
The first consultation is, of course, free of charge. We’ll discuss your situation, plans and any questions you may have, and see how we can help you. We’ll then explain what the next steps are, and any costs that may be involved. That way, you’ll know exactly where you stand from the outset.
Are you really independent?
Yes. We are not tied to any one bank or insurer, and we do not work on commission. We are familiar with all the providers, their costs and their terms and conditions. We’ll look at which provider best suits your situation.
What do I need to prepare?
Think about what you’d like to discuss and what plans or questions you have. A rough overview of your income, fixed expenses and any mortgage will help us get started, but it isn’t essential for the first meeting.
Would you like specific advice during the first meeting? If so, it would be helpful if you could bring your payslip, a statement of your savings, a list of your loans, etc., or send them to us in advance.
If you’d like, we can set up your account on the client portal in advance so you can upload documents. Please let us know when you book your appointment, and we’ll create an account for you.
Can I come here as an expat too?
Yes. Even if you’re an expat, we can help you with your mortgage and other financial queries. We’ll look at how your income and circumstances factor in and which options are best suited to your situation. We have extensive experience in this area. The consultation can be in Dutch, English or Polish.
Do I need to pop into the office?
You’re welcome to visit our office on the Slinge in Rotterdam. Of course, you can also book an online appointment. Whichever suits you best. You’ll receive the same personalised attention and clear explanations.
We’re open Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and on Thursday evenings by appointment.
I’m an entrepreneur – can I come to you for help?
Yes, of course. As an entrepreneur, your annual income can vary. We’ll look at your personal and business circumstances and find out which mortgage options are best suited to your situation. You can also come to us with any questions you may have about your pension, insurance and financial future.
